Temper tantrums

Tantrums before 8am on a Monday should be illegal.  This morning's drama revolves around our TV remote and Logan not being able to reach it on the couch. can we fast forward to Tuesday night?  I get my husband all to my self (Logan gets him too so I guess half to myself) for almost a week to celebrate our 4th (marriage) anniversary!  In October we will be celebrating 10 years of being together. Getting Elsa in four days. I'm pretty happy with how Bill is progressing here.. hopefully we can get Els to like the bunnies and vice versa. . I'm a little nervous on how it will work. That being said, on a side note I think I have the flesh eating disease because I keep getting bleeding scabs all around my eyes and this has been going on all month long.

Bill

We are doing the unthinkable. . We are fostering a rabbit. It has always been a taboo for us because we did not want to get attached knowing they would eventually be taken from us.. and we get attached quick to animals.  But that being said I know in my heart it is the best thing for this rabbit. He was found wandering around outside Allen Park High School and taken in by a very nice friend of Mark's Aunt's. She knew she couldn't keep him but kept him safe until someone could come along and give him a home. This guy is 9 months old and is some sort of himalayan, lion head angora mix. He has one ear that stands up and one that flops. Maybe 4 pounds max, if that. Not a skeleton but still could benefit from being fattened up. No real health concerns except he isn't neutered yet and should be.. He does not have fleas or ticks. We are guessing he is an Easter dump. Ie a couple of geniuses bought their brat a bunny for Easter and the brat got bored and parents didn't want to deal with the bunny themselves so they let him go into the wild where he belongs! Not. You almost just sentenced him to death. Total and complete utter waste of human beings. That's a rant for another time. But about Bill, (I named him Bill after True Blood Bill) he is very very sweet and docile. Laid back says it mildly.  He shows zero signs of aggression and almost seems zoned out or drugged because he is so chill. He ate hay and greens right away. Wasn't sure about the kibble but tried it and loves it. Went right in his pan to pee and since has continued to pee in his pan. Was pooping everywhere but the pan at first but after 8 hours or so is now going into pan to poop. I've picked up 2 isolated poops all day from his pen so that is just amazing.  Maybe is showing better habits than my 2 bunnies. We are going to bring him down to play later. I am really trying to not get attached.  We need another animal like a hole in the head. It's hard though.

Boxes

Logan received his Citrus Lane yesterday and for the first time since we started subscribing in March I did not have him open it himself. Care.com recently bought CL and I wondered if service would get better or worse and so far the quality of the products is still present but the packaging and care in putting together the boxes was unacceptable. It looked like Logan already ripped it open. There was only one thing for him in the box. The other 3 items were for me moreso so I didn't see a point of giving the box to him. The toy he got this month was very cute and he loves it so that's good. (At least) I also signed up with Petbox for Elsa, they had a great promo deal going on.. The small sub which is normally $9.95 monthly was on sale for $3.33. So I figured why not for three bucks. Yeah got that today and great quality but not worth spending $10 a month for one item when we are at petsmart once every 5 days or so..Miss Elsa can pick out her own toys there.  Here's pictures.

All of our pets are missing brain cells

It's a hay loft, Katniss. You eat the hay from underneath it. Sigh

Little helper

Here's a picture from yesterday- Lou helping me bake brownies

Morning laugh

Louie has a recent stuffed animal fetish. He has taken 2 of logans stuffed animals from our family room upstairs to our room and ripped at them on multiple occasions. This morning he went into Logans room and took a stuffed monkey off of his chair and brought it downstairs and ripped at it in the family room until Logan crawled over and took it from him. My stomach hurts from laughing. Here's pictures!

My new baby

Drop dead gorgeous bubblegum Dooney&Bourke arrived yesterday.  Drool.

Stupid kids

Last night at 10:15 I was comfortable and in bed with America's Got Talent on and out of no where we hear our doorbell ringing. Now I don't know about you but if my phone rings after 10 at night or my doorbell rings I immediately think someone has died. We slowly peak though our bedroom blinds and I'm expecting one of our parents' cars and guess what, no car is in the driveway.  Go downstairs and open the front door to see a group of 4 teens across the street walking away. Haha so funny, ding dong ditch on a week night! I called Trenton cops on them.  Lord knows they need something to do. Fucking kids.

Ready for the weekend

This week has been dragging by.. not sure if that's result of the anticipation and excitement for Elsa or what. Wednesday has easily become my least favorite day. It is the middle of the week where it's still far enough but yet close enough to the weekend to be annoying. Wednesday is also the day I do laundry and get a ton of stuff done around the house.  Remind me not to take Ambien at bedtime on Tuesdays because I have been exhausted all day today. 9 more days until we welcome our new family member and I can't wait to introduce her to L.

9.5 month check up

Height - 29.5 inches
Weight - 22 lb 8 oz
Head Circumference - 48.5 cm

No shots til after his 1st birthday (Yes!)

all in all, good appointment.  He is right on schedule if not a little advanced for his age. We can start him on meats any day. Not baby food meats but what we consume. Woohoo!

Birthday Dilemma

I am so back and fourth with what I want to do for L's 1st birthday.  November 7 is a Friday this year so I figured we would do a Nov 8 early afternoon event. My dilemma is that while our house is nice and open, at the same it's also quite confined. We don't have a ton of furniture, never needed it. Our living room seats 3 people, kitchen seats 4, family room seats 3. The way our house is put together we do not have the room for tables and chairs to be set up and our basement is not finished.  If only L's birthday was in the summertime we could have it outside under a Pavillion or something. . I love putting together parties and I'm really good at it but it also majorly stresses me out and I never end up having any fun myself. But with that being said I adore cooking for people and the actual planning part of the process. I can't plan a party with out going over the top with it.  It's so easy to say just get a few pizzas, cake and pop. No that just doesn't work for me. That turns into let's do a Circus theme and get a vintage hot dog roller and hand out cracker jacks, popcorn and cotton candy and deck the house out on circus decorations and let's buy a helium tank and blow up balloons and have balloons everywhere. Regardless of my over the top nature, we can't have more than 10 people here max. M's family is huge, mine not so much. I have a 40+ person head count right now.  Not going to work.  Then the question is asked well why don't my parents or your parents have it at their house? Because I want to decorate our house and L is most comfortable here. Then I consider a neutral space like renting a hall. Okay now we are looking at $500+ and that's without gifts. L doesn't care how any people are at his party. He's ONE. I guess I really just want to have it just be us and grandparents and that's it. I just dont know. Maybe we should just get a new house. Sigh.

Love With Food August Box

This month's LWF box finally showed up today after sitting untouched in Georgia since the 10th. Last month's box was a huge letdown so I wasn't expecting much but needless to say I was pleasantly surprised. August has a county fair theme and the food items all look delicious and I'm excited to taste everything.

We received:
Montreal steak spice potato chips, pineapple coconut ice pops that go in the freezer, cinnamon graham crackers shaped like squirrels, salty caramel apple salt water taffy, salty peanut salt water taffy, nutty blueberry rice bites, cheddar crackers, kettle sweet peanuts, organic lollipops, redwood smoky bbq potato chips and peanut butter spread and hazelnut peanut butter spread.    Yum.

Logans Citrus Lane Mystery Box

Every so often I will purchase L an extra Citrus Lane Mystery Box. They are not offered all the time, maybe once a month. For $29.99 you are guaranteed $60 worth of items suitable for your kids age and gender. I had a coupon last month which made the box about $24. I received it today and wow was it packed with stuff!  I have been aging him up several months so I can put some toys aside for Christmas.  With his birthday being 7 weeks prior, it is a lot all at once and it is easier to buy a little bit at a time. Today's box included a puzzle, food pouch, plate and bowl set, a push and pull along wooden zebra, a wooden toy truck, a board book and a wooden stacking toy. Bam there's 6 high end gifts out of the way and he can eat the pouch tonight. The total value was $59.67 amazon pricing. Love it and love Citrus Lane.

Logan is okay with Mondays.

He wins the cutest smile award today and every day!

Most recent picture of Queen Elsa

How cute is she? Her ears are starting to pop up! :)

Abandoning social media, sort of

I have been a Facebook junkie for years. I am the friend you either are intrigued by or are absolutely annoyed by as I post a lot of pictures and a lot of statuses.  Mainly I used Facebook not so much to catch up with other people but as a time line of my life and a place to post daily pictures of my beloved family. As of late it seems I can't post too much without people being offended and I'm sick of all the bullshit so it's better I take a well deserved break and focus on keeping my blog up to date. And hell I guess I can post whatever I want on here without feeling like it's "tmi" or worrying that posting yet another picture of my drop dead adorable 9 month old son might cause an Internet eyeroll. I look forward to being able to freely post pictures,  thoughts, recipes and what my family has been up to without the fear of having my head chewed off. Cheers to saying so long for now to FB!
